(yr) great american lullabye! --
spelunkin' the DEEP roots of american old-time music, c. 1920-1950, with an emphasis on the first years of recorded music, and the rural (and not-so-rural) sounds that fueled
the era. we'll explore restored 78rpm sounds from the mountains, hollers, deltas &
factories, with lotsa snap, crackle & hiss to boot. look out! for: JUG BANDS, STRING BANDS,
COUNTRY BLUES, DELTA BLUES, YOU-CALL-THAT-GOSPEL, WAY-EARLY-COUNTRY, BANJO SLINGERS, ALL KINDSA STOMPERS, and gwen foster's mighty harmonica.
we'll also be (we hope!) featuring interviews with prominent scholars & moguls working to restore, research & re-release these old-time numbers, with a special eye to habits of production, consumption, and good ol' american REVIVAL.
with jess lamar reece holler & jeff pat nagle, who want to be your friends!
