The Porch Stage was the place to be at the Nelsonville Music Festival, as a string of loud rockers of various genres took over after mid-day. There is a sampling of clips from various sets below.

The rain we had all been fretting about arrived in time to push the headliner, Cat Power, back to a 10:30 start. A fearless and soggy bunch took in her set and blistering sets by Screaming Females and the Reigning Sound.

Unfortunately The Coup had to abbreviate their set in order to get everything done before 2 a.m.

Rested (a bit), showered, back at it again...

Screaming Females was the highlight of last night's line-up in my opinion. Front-woman Marissa Paternoster shreds with wreckless abandon.

Cincinnati's The Hiders were the first electric band to put the Porch Stage sound system through its paces yesterday. Here's the final song from their set.

Reigning Sound reigned supreme at the Porch Stage for the hearty folks who waited out the rain.

Old Light opened the main stage on Thursday and returned for a second time on the porch stage yesterday. Their music is a psyched-out mix of styles.

The Nelsonville Music festival is in full swing. Thursday night offered up some of Athens' finest local acts, including Hex Net, Unmonumental, D-Rays, and the Makebelieves.

Headliners Gogol Bordello killed it. I don't have any pictures from their set, but trust me. They set the stage on fire. Jeff Tweedy should just turned the bus around right now and head back to Chicago, for Gogol Bordello will not be topped.

Nelsonville Pro Tip #1: If you actually want to sleep, request Family Camping when you pull into the campsite. Our campsite rules and it even has wifi.

This week we had a hearty discussion about theft that began with an explanantion of the training that Brett received as a kid and led to how these skills can be used at work or the grocery store, there's always a place to find some extra money you deserve.

The second half was about the popular website AIRBNB being outlawed in New York City. If you don't know the site it's a way to find rooms available in a city you want to visit, and rent them. The government thinks they know better than you do where you should sleep. Which then led us to talk about the drug czar, and what exactly his drug doing credentials are to tell me that the drugs we do aren't safe, even though we're not dead.
