Twangtacular Ep. 30 - Dolly & Lucinda Birthday Party!

From studios in Columbus Ohio USA, it’s another edition of Twangtacular, the radio program featuring authentic Country, Western, Bluegrass, and Americana music of the past and present. My name’s Boy Howdy and today we are celebrating the January birthdays of two legendary hall of fame worthy voices in these genres: Dolly Parton and Lucinda Williams. The two ladies will be trading songs back and forth today while I tell you a little about their lives and careers. We’ll start with the first songs both of them ever released on LP in their solo careers: “Dumb Blonde” from Dolly’s 1967 album “Hello, I’m Dolly” and the title track from Lucinda’s 1979 debut “Ramblin’ on My Mind.” You can listen to this and every episode of Twangtacular on-demand at Mixcloud.com/Twangtacular and at WCRSFM.org. Twangtacular is a production of WCRS: Community Radio Columbus.
